"Not to Forget"

忘不了 is a common Chinese phrase that meant "do not forget unforgettable". Yet, "Mr. Alzheimers" over here still managed to forget the important dot in the 心 partial.

Oh, the irony...

    This will be a good reminder so that he doesn't forget not be so stupid in future before tattooing something in a language he doesn't know.

    At least this tattoo is salvageable. He only needs to get that extra stroke added and to extend the long stroke for 心.

    Maybe he is trying to show us he doesn't have conscience in his heart (missing a dot for the heart part of the word). I wonder if that's the irony tian was talking about.

    Am I missing something? Shouldn't this be "Bie wang le" assuming he meant the command "don't forget"? (I'm on an office computer and I can't download the program for characters).

    If "don't forget" is part of a sentence (ex., "He doesn't forget that thing/someone/event"), then wouldn't it be "Wang bu lao"?

    And I agree with the others -- it's ugly and all the hair makes it even worse.

    "Wang Bu Liao" actually means "cannot be forgotten"->"unforgettable"

    That's right, the translation should in fact be "unforgettable". Actually the font used in this tattoo was fairly common, called "Advertising font" (the bottom one at http://dolcn.com/data/cns_1/article_31/essay_312/egra_3122/2005-08/1123199003.html) It's sort of like Comic Sans - meant to be relaxed and lively but is in fact rather ugly. The tattoo would have been quite elegant if a subtler and smaller font was used...
