空 means "empty, hollow, bare, deserted".
For a slightly less depressing meaning, in Japanese 空 is also "sky".
ReplyDeleteBut might it be a rather messy 究 instead? That actually is the kanji used for the version of きわめる which means to investigate/learn/master something thoroughly.
