Few readers have been sending me
the story about a food vendor called
Bing Mi! in Portland, Oregon.
The biggest gripe besides the owner is not Chinese yet selling one of the most traditional northern Chinese food item, is the fact that its signage is wrong.
Although I have no problem of the proprietor
columbusing Chinese pancake wrap, but its signage is somewhat silly or a poor pun attempt.
劍兵 (sword soldier) on the sign is not associated with the delicious wrap in terms of context, rather it is the homophone of
煎餅 (Chinese pancake wrap).
