Neglectful Svetlyo?

A tattooist named Svetlyo of Eclipse Tattoo in Ruse, Bulgaria, did these two tattoos.

In both cases, the characters circled in red, , and , are missing strokes. I wonder if they were done incorrectly due to tattoo template flaws or a neglectful tattooist.

  1. I think the character 惑 is wrong, because 心 has just got two 丶

  4. Just what I was thinking... not baaad, given the usual gibberish.

Mind you, that's the point I found myself reaching with Engrish when I lived in Japan. "Well, you can kind of see what they were trying to do, which is a start..."

  5. not bad, scarlet, until we all remember that it's more or less permanently inked into someone's skin.

  6. Indeed, Andy. But not horrendously embarrassing/ offensive, and potentially fixable with another visit to the tattooist. Although not much room for the missing stroke in 惑.

I was hardly praising it. I meant that reaching that point when in Japan was a bad thing, brought about by the sheer weight of terrible examples.

  7. Well, at least these are fixable. Better to be missing strokes than to have extra strokes that have to be lasered off.
